Early Bird Cookery Seeks Prep Chef/Packager

Early Bird Cookery is a farm-to-table meal delivery and catering business. We are a small, close knit and dedicated team. Below are a list of the main roles but we love people who wear many hats and can contribute additional personal skills. Must be detail oriented, hard working, swift & organized. Experience is great but more essential is a strong interest & attitude.

We need someone on Fridays & Sundays as well as occasional Saturdays for the winter & spring. More hours during the summer & fall. Additional income for any clients you bring on-board.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Implementing the executive chef’s & sous chefs orders
- Prep ingredients for cooking : washing, chopping and cutting of ingredients, making precise measurements, executing recipes
- Package and store leftover foods properly
- Prepare stocks, sauces and dressings; salads & baked goods
- Kitchen clean-up duties
- Help source & gather ingredients from local farms
- Ensuring that the high standards of food safety and sanitation are followed
- Interact w/clients ... know our clients dietary needs & likes
- Ensures that all items & products are packaged & up to EBC standards before they leave the kitchen
- Jumping in to work as waitstaff, bartender, cook when needed : catering events
- Performing any function necessary for the success of the kitchen
- Ownership of all duties is essential. Taking initiative and following through.

- Thrive under the high-pressure of the kitchen; have a thick skin
- Act as market manager : attend markets, be prepared for markets, promote EBC at markets, ensure our booth and materials and products are up to EBC standards. (summer only : optional)
